Fiance to a beekeeper at Bald Rock Dome

Hey Hunnies,

Let me be the first to wish you, a truly Happy New Year!

2019, be good to us.

Our hearts are filled with lots of love this year, and we have so many new and exciting things coming to fruition.

First of all, our company is taking on new and exciting ventures as we expand our collection of creamed honey varieties, (stay tuned!), and tune into the needs of beekeepers. Jace, being the fourth generation of the Becker Beekeepers, is recognizing the needs of the modern day beekeeper and hoping to provide them with the tools to succeed in the ever-evolving world that is beekeeping. He’s introducing Irradiated Bee Pollen into our product list, with more hopefully to come.

The Becker family has a lot to celebrate this year, as 2019 marks the celebration of 100 years of family beekeeping. While Backroad Beekeeping is Jace’s personal project and stamp on the beekeeping world, his roots come from a generational family of beekeeping - and one-hundred years of beekeeping?? Now that is something to celebrate!

Last, but certainly not least, Jace & I will be getting married this year, and we couldn’t be happier! Although we have zero plans set in stone, (not even the date!), we’re exciting to become a little family after six of the best years spent together as bf & gf.

The New Year offers us fresh slate, that’s both invigorating and exhilarating… As Jace and I sit outside this morning, taking in the crisp, January air, I could not be more excited for the year to come. For the plants that will come back to life, and the flowers that will burst open with the rich colors of pollen; for the bees that will begin to forage in March and April, and the flow of nectar that the bees will gather and turn to rich, golden honey.

We talked about intentions this morning, and I want to share mine with you:

2019 Intentions:

  • Improvement of Overall Health: This is not to be mistaken with dieting, or hitting the gym 24/7 for the first 3 weeks of January. Rather, this is the commitment to myself to improve my daily choices. I will choose a side salad over fries, I will choose to hit the gym after work even on the hard days, and I will choose to get an iced vanilla latte on Saturday mornings because sometimes it’s about the happiest choice when it comes to wellness.

  • Expansion of My Mind: This intention comes from a personal place, but it boils down to the fact that I’d like to expand my horizons and learn a little more, so I have a little more to share.

That’s it - I’d like to focus my time on the improvement of these two main intentions, because I believe with these, other, better things will come too.

-S
